About the Role

The Senior Full Stack Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable full-stack applications while driving technical excellence across the engineering organization. This role works closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that improve the experience of millions of members.

As a senior technical contributor, you will take ownership of complex engineering initiatives, mentor junior developers, participate in architecture and solution design, and help build reliable cloud-native applications using modern JavaScript technologies and AWS serverless services.


Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications.
  • Build modern user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
  • Develop backend services using Node.js.
  • Deliver production-ready, secure, and maintainable software.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, and reliability standards.

Solution Design

  • Design technical solutions for medium-to-large engineering initiatives.
  • Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend optimal implementation strategies.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning.
  • Deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive engineering improvements through experimentation and A/B testing.
  • Continuously enhance application performance and user experience.
  • Improve development processes and engineering practices.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.

Cloud Development

  • Design and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Build and maintain serverless architectures.
  • Develop scalable APIs and cloud services.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.

Software Quality

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce engineering best practices.
  • Maintain high coding standards across projects.
  • Support application monitoring, debugging, and production issue resolution.

Continuous Delivery

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Improve software delivery reliability.
  • Support release management and production deployments.
  • Enhance development workflows and deployment processes.

Mentoring & Leadership

  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Provide technical guidance during development and code reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering teams.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to engineering community initiatives and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • React
    • Node.js
    • TypeScript
  • Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with serverless application development.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering principles.
  • Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems independently.
  • Experience mentoring junior software engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in Agile development environments.
