Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead

Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead (Python API JavaScript React) – £70k–£90k (Oxford / WFH)

Opportunity to take ownership of the technology strategy, architecture and software platforms that power a growing motorsport and technology business.


About the Role

As the Full Stack Engineer / Technical Lead, you will:

  • Shape the future of the engineering function
  • Influence key business decisions
  • Build a high-performing team while staying hands-on with technological implementation and product delivery

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the technical roadmap
  • Make architectural decisions
  • Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices across the organisation
  • Design scalable platforms supporting:
    • Real-time operations
    • Telemetry
    • Analytics & reporting
    • AI-enabled workflows
    • Usage by engineers, operators, and decision-makers

Location & Flexibility

  • Three days a week office-based (near Oxford/Bicester)
  • Two days per week WFH

About You

Qualifications & Experience

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong software engineering expertise with:
    • Python & APIs
    • Database design (SQL)
    • Data-driven applications
    • JavaScript & React
    • Data visualisation
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Software architecture
    • Clean code practices
    • Scalable system design
    • Testing methodologies
  • Technical leadership skills, including:
    • Reviewing code & pull requests
    • Mentoring & coaching developers
    • Leading technical delivery in a small team
  • Proficiency integrating AI, LLMs or agentic tools into daily software development
  • Sound knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (or comparable cloud infrastructure)
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
