About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated full-stack engineer to join monument’s dynamic technology team. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of digital products that directly impact how our clients manage their wealth. As a core member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and secure applications across both web and mobile platforms. Your work will span from creating polished front-end interfaces to building resilient back-end services, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience. This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about building meaningful products in a fast-paced, innovative environment that values autonomy, technical excellence, and continuous learning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and data specialists—to deliver solutions that are not only functional but also elegant and user-focused. Embracing an AI-first approach, you will leverage cutting-edge tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and AI agents to accelerate development cycles while maintaining high standards of security and quality. Your contributions will influence product strategy by identifying opportunities for technical innovation and automation, ensuring operational excellence, and helping shape our engineering standards as the team scales.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring proven full-stack engineering experience with a strong portfolio of delivering production-ready applications. You should have hands-on expertise with React, Node.js, and AWS in both web and mobile environments. Experience with native iOS or Android development, or React Native, is highly desirable. A solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs, serverless architectures, and CI/CD pipelines is essential. You should be comfortable working within cloud-native ecosystems using TypeScript and JavaScript, with a track record of utilizing data and experimentation to inform product decisions. Familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools and a considered approach to their application is important. Candidates should have experience working in agile, product-led teams where ownership, speed, and collaboration are key. Knowledge of UK GDPR data handling obligations and building in regulated environments is advantageous. Additional experience with event-driven systems and database technologies such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB will be a plus. Exposure to financial services, fintech, or other regulated sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and scale high-quality, secure, and maintainable applications across mobile and web platforms, owning the entire development lifecycle from architecture to production monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to identify problems, develop hypotheses, and deliver rapid solutions that meet client needs.
- Apply an AI-first methodology by integrating tools like Claude, GitHub Copilot, and AI agents to enhance development efficiency, testing, and ideation without compromising quality or security.
- Implement robust monitoring and analytics to track performance, user behavior, and conversion metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making for future enhancements.
- Contribute to product strategy by identifying opportunities for technological innovation, automation, and process improvements across digital experiences.
- Ensure operational excellence by designing for reliability, scalability, and compliance within a regulated financial environment.
- Help define and evolve engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices as the team grows and scales.
- Champion simplicity and elegance in system design, creating intuitive and frictionless interfaces for clients.
