About The Role

Broadridge is seeking a highly experienced Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This individual contributor role is focused on designing, engineering, deploying, and managing the architecture of key financial products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java-centric technology stacks, AWS serverless and microservices architectures, and data management for financial applications. The role involves leading design roadmaps, ensuring adherence to corporate standards, and championing best practices in software development. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new technologies, develop innovative solutions, and influence organizational technical strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects in a hybrid environment, requiring 2-3 days in our Boston office, and provides a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 15+ years of experience in software design and development
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture, management practices, and development processes
  • Expertise in N-tier web-based applications built on Java-centric technology stacks
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, particularly serverless and microservices architectures
  • Broad experience with SQL databases such as SQL Server or Oracle
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in SQL tuning
  • Familiarity with OLAP databases like Snowflake is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to influence across organizational levels
  • Strong understanding of business functions, processes, and strategic objectives
  • Strategic thinking and results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to accept feedback and consider diverse ideas
  • Business acumen and ability to translate technical solutions into business value

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design roadmap and development efforts for the technical team, ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Develop, implement, and promote best practices in design, coding, and architecture standards
  • Ensure all solutions comply with corporate enterprise standards and policies
  • Manage the day-to-day work of technical staff or serve as project manager for significant initiatives
  • Provide architecture expertise and guidance to business and development teams
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and generate innovative ideas to enhance product offerings
  • Lead efforts to develop scalable, secure, and efficient financial applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to long-term technology roadmaps
  • Monitor and optimize application performance, including SQL tuning and database management
  • Ensure solutions are aligned with organizational security and compliance standards
