The West Herts College Group are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced hourly paid English lecturer to work as part of the College’s dedicated English team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be involved in delivering, developing, and preparing Stepping Stones and GCSE English.

Ideal Candidate

Ideally, you will have considerable experience of teaching English with the ability to be creative and adaptable in your approaches to delivery to support the learning of students at varying levels.

In addition to teaching, your role will involve both individual and team support to vocational staff that will need assistance with embedding English into their vocational courses.

You will be required to support the diagnostic process and have the knowledge to work with students at a variety of levels. This includes contributing to the quality process by providing evidence of outstanding and innovative schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning plans.

Job Details

We have full-time, part-time and hourly paid roles available. Please specify your preference on the application form.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 28th July. This role is based across the college campuses (Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Luton). Interviews will take place on Thursday 13th August 2026.
