Housekeeper for a Private Residence Location: Highgate / East Finchley, North London Contract: Full-time, Live-out Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8–9 hours per day Salary: £45,000–£55,000 gross per annum (negotiable based on experience) Start Date: Ideally end of July (earlier start available for the right candidate)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised Housekeeper to support a lovely family of three in a beautiful five-bedroom private residence in North London.
This is a long-term, full-time, live-out position in a warm family home, caring for two adults and a young child (18 months) alongside a full-time Nanny. The ideal candidate will maintain the home to an exceptionally high standard, support the smooth running of the household, and take genuine pride in their work.
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience in private households
- Exceptional attention to detail and confidence in managing a household independently
- Discretion, motivation, and the ability to use their own initiative
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Maintenance
- Full housekeeping of a five-bedroom, five-bathroom private residence to an exceptional standard
- Daily cleaning of living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms
- Specialist surface care (wood, polished concrete) using appropriate cleaning methods and products
- Regular window cleaning (external, floor-to-ceiling)
- Outdoor maintenance between gardener visits
- Watering plants
- Removing leaves/debris
- Light weeding & tidying garden spaces

Laundry & Wardrobe Management
- Laundry services, including:
- Washing, ironing, & hand-washing delicate garments
- Organising wardrobes & clothing to maintain a luxury standard
Household Organisation & Errands
- Grocery & supply management via online platforms/apps
- Fresh floral arrangements (weekly)
- Meal preparation:
- Daily fresh salads & side dishes
- Basic cooking prep (e.g., meat prep, family-style Mediterranean & Slavic dishes)
- Occasional stews and main meals
- Household errands:
- Dry cleaning, tailoring, and post office visits
- Liaising with contractors as needed

- Maintaining discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8–9 hours per day

Requirements
Essential
✅ Proven experience working in high-end private households ✅ Exceptional housekeeping skills with meticulous attention to detail ✅ Knowledge of specialist surfaces, finishes, and luxury furnishings ✅ Skill in laundry & wardrobe organisation ✅ Ability to prepare simple, healthy family meals ✅ Confident using online platforms for shopping & stock management ✅ Independent & proactive with excellent organisation
