About the role

We're recruiting PIP and Work Capability Assessment (WCA) Functional Assessors on behalf of our client for their Lewes assessment centre, with start dates available from September onwards.

This is a varied, role where you'll use your clinical expertise to carry out either PIP and WCA assessments, producing high-quality, evidence-based reports that help inform decisions on health-related benefits. You'll receive a full, structured training programme to DWP approval, with ongoing clinical support and development.

The package

  • Starting salaries up to £50,000 (dependent on location)
  • Bonus on approval
  • 10% productivity bonus scheme
  • Monday to Friday, daytime hours – no nights, no weekends, no on-call
  • Comprehensive induction and training to DWP approval

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting functional assessments for PIP or WCA claimants, face-to-face, by telephone or by video
  • Analysing how a person's health condition or disability affects their daily life and ability to work
  • Producing clear, concise, evidence-based reports for the DWP
  • Managing your own caseload within a supportive, clinically led team

What you'll need

  • Current, unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration (RGN, RMN, RNLD, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist)
  • A minimum of 12 months' post-registration clinical experience
  • Strong written communication and clinical reasoning skills
  • Confidence working with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions

The Lewes assessment centre is easily reached by rail from Brighton, Eastbourne, Haywards Heath and across Sussex.
