D365 F&O Functional Consultant

We’re working with a leading organisation on a major Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations transformation and are looking for an experienced D365 F&O Functional Consultant to join the programme on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the design, delivery and optimisation of a D365 F&O solution, working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver a fit-for-purpose ERP platform.
The Role
As the D365 F&O Functional Consultant, you’ll act as the bridge between the business and technical teams, translating business requirements into scalable D365 F&O solutions while helping drive successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional design activities across the D365 F&O programme.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend best-practice D365 F&O solutions.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for development teams.
- Support the end-to-end implementation of D365 F&O across multiple business functions.
- Facilitate workshops, capture requirements and develop Epics, Features and User Stories.
- Collaborate with technical teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Execute functional, end-to-end and integration testing, including the use of Postman.
- Support Agile delivery, sprint planning and backlog refinement.
- Ensure solutions align with Microsoft best practice and out-of-the-box capabilities.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 5-6+ years’ hands-on experience as a D365 Finance & Operations Functional Consultant (12+ years overall IT/ERP experience preferred).
- Strong functional knowledge of Finance and Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules.
- Experience with Direct Debit processes.
- Multiple end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of D365 F&O capabilities, limitations and best practices.
- Experience facilitating business workshops and gathering requirements.
- Proven Agile delivery experience, including writing User Stories, Features and Epics.
- Knowledge of the wider Microsoft ecosystem including Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse, Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor.

Desirable
- Experience within the Energy sector.
- Exposure to additional D365 F&O modules beyond Finance and SCM.
