Functional Consultant – Maconomy Financials
Location: Remote
Contract: Initial 6 Months
Rate: £700 per day (Inside IR35)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Maconomy Financials to support the delivery and optimisation of enterprise financial solutions. Working closely with business stakeholders, finance teams and technical consultants, you will play a key role in configuring, implementing and enhancing Maconomy Financials to meet evolving business requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile programme, helping clients maximise the value of their ERP investment while driving process improvements across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document functional requirements.
- Configure and implement solutions across the Maconomy Financials suite.
- Provide functional expertise across financial modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting and Billing.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technical teams.
- Support system enhancements, upgrades and change requests.
- Conduct functional testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect resolution.
- Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing support to business users.
- Produce functional documentation, process maps and user guides.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and system efficiencies.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers and finance teams to ensure successful delivery.

What We're Looking For
- 7+ years' experience working with Maconomy Financials in a Functional Consultant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of ERP and financial management systems.
- Proven experience gathering business requirements and delivering functional solutions.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Maconomy Financials modules.
- Strong understanding of core finance processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Project Accounting and Billing.
- Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades or transformation programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a client-facing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
