About the Team

The Adaptive Planning Professional Services team is dedicated to bringing the full value of Workday’s Adaptive Planning product to life for our customers.

As implementation consultants, we partner with a diverse portfolio of customers to help them transform how they plan, budget, forecast, and report across their Finance functions.

Our team sits at the heart of customer success, guiding organizations through end-to-end implementations of Workday Adaptive Planning. We collaborate closely with project managers, technical consultants, and customer teams to ensure every deployment delivers meaningful outcomes.

About the Role

As a Functional Consultant on the Adaptive Planning team, you will play a key role in the end-to-end implementation of Workday’s Adaptive Planning product across a varied portfolio of customers.

You will act as a trusted advisor, either leading or supporting the implementation of single or multiple Finance functional streams on any given project.

This role requires a blend of functional and technical consulting skills relating to the implementation of business software applications.

You are a business consultant who brings expertise in the functional aspects of the Workday platform and translates that knowledge into solutions that meet each customer’s unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning across Finance & HCM functional streams, ensuring solutions are designed to address customer business challenges
  • Conduct discovery sessions and requirements-gathering workshops to understand customer needs, use cases, and goals, translating those into well-defined solution designs
  • Configure and deploy Adaptive Planning solutions, including financial models, reports, dashboards, and integrations, in alignment with customer requirements
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the implementation lifecycle, providing guidance on best practices and helping them get the most out of the platform
  • Collaborate with project team members, including project managers and technical consultants, to ensure implementations are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, developing best practices, and mentoring team members

Qualifications

Basic

  • 5+ years of related experience in consulting (internal consultant or consulting/software company)
  • Experience working with or implementing a Tier 1 Planning software application such as Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, OneStream, Hyperion, or similar application
  • Business fluency in English

Eligibility

  • Skilled in requirements gathering strategies, such as interviews, workshops, use case development, to accurately identify and define customer needs and ensure implementations are aligned with business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to adapt engagement style for Finance teams and senior stakeholders and present complex information clearly and engagingly
  • Experience influencing and guiding customer decisions through persuasion and consultation to achieve project alignment and collaboration on implementation \
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship management by building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with customers throughout implementation lifecycle, thereby improving satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
  • Proficient and results-driven in solutions design for identifying business challenges, designing Adaptive Planning configurations and models to improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making in finance teams
  • Agile, self-motivated team player who enhances project outcomes through cross-functional collaboration, open knowledge-sharing, and mentorship
  • Relevant educational qualifications and/or experience in implementing or supporting Cloud Planning or EPM solutions preferred
  • Experience implementing Workforce Planning solutions is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial statements and interactions among them
  • Adaptable and resourceful, capable and comfortable of working remotely, using technologies, and operating autonomously
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and agility to quickly learn new technologies via varied learning channels
