About The Team
The Adaptive Planning Professional Services team is dedicated to bringing the full value of Workday's Adaptive Planning product to life for our customers. As implementation consultants, we partner with a diverse portfolio of customers to help them transform how they plan, budget, forecast, and report across Finance functions.
Our team sits at the heart of customer success, guiding organizations through end-to-end implementations of Workday Adaptive Planning. We collaborate closely with project managers, technical consultants, and customer teams to ensure every deployment delivers meaningful outcomes. What makes this team special?

About The Role
As a Functional Consultant on the Adaptive Planning team, you will play a key role in the end-to-end implementation of Workday's Adaptive Planning product across a varied portfolio of customers. You will act as a trusted advisor, leading or supporting the implementation of single or multiple Finance functional streams on any given project.
This role requires a blend of functional and technical consulting skills relating to the implementation of business software applications. As a Workday Consultant, you are a business consultant who brings expertise in the functional aspects of the Workday platform and translates that knowledge into solutions that meet each customer’s unique needs.

Responsibilities
- Leading or supporting the implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning across Finance and HCM functional streams, ensuring solutions are designed to address customer business challenges
- Conducting discovery sessions and requirements gathering workshops to understand customer needs, use cases, and goals, translating those into well-defined solution designs
- Configuring and deploying Adaptive Planning solutions, including financial models, reports, dashboards, and integrations in alignment with customer requirement
- Serving as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the implementation lifecycle, providing guidance on best practices and helping them get the most out of the platform
- Collaborating with project team members, including project managers and technical consultants, to ensure implementations are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, developing best practices, and mentoring team members
About You
Attributes & Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of related experience in consulting, either as an internal consultant or with a consulting or software company
- Experience working with, or implementing, a Tier 1 Planning software application such as Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, OneStream, Hyperion, or a similar application
- Business fluency in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Skilled in requirements gathering, with the ability to lead discovery sessions using techniques such as interviews, workshops, and use-case development to accurately identify and define customer needs, ensuring implementations are clearly scoped and aligned with business objectives
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences — from Finance teams to senior leadership — and to present complex information in a clear and engaging manner
- Experienced in influencing and guiding customer decisions through persuasive and consultative communication, helping drive alignment across project teams and fostering collaboration on implementation approach and design
- Demonstrated ability in relationship management, including building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with customers throughout the implementation lifecycle, improving customer satisfaction, and fostering long-term partnerships
- Proficient in solutions design, with experience identifying complex business challenges and designing tailored Adaptive Planning configurations and models that improve efficiency, reporting, and decision-making for customer Finance teams
- A collaborative team player who contributes to a positive and productive project environment, works effectively with cross-functional team members, and shares knowledge to help improve overall team delivery
- Relevant educational qualifications and/or experience[]
- Implementing or supporting Cloud Planning or EPM solutions
- Implementing Workforce Planning solutions (a plus)
- Well-versed in all financial statements and the interaction between them
- Resourceful and adaptable, comfortable working remotely and utilizing a variety of tools with a high degree of autonomy
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional levels of customer service and a desire to learn new technology quickly through a variety of mediums
