The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, data-driven Functional Planner & Industry Analyst to join our growing Marketing team in the fast-paced motorcycle industry. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about market trends, strategic planning, and product lifecycle management.
As the Functional Planner & Industry Analyst, you will play a key role in planning product milestone gateways, coordinating product lifecycle reviews, and delivering actionable market intelligence that supports strategic decision-making across Product Development, Marketing, and Sales. By analysing market trends, competitor activity, customer insights, and broader industry dynamics, you will help shape future product and business strategies while ensuring products progress effectively through each stage of the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor product milestone gateways throughout the product development lifecycle
- Prepare and facilitate product lifecycle management (PLM) reviews to ensure projects remain aligned with business objectives and timelines
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and industry developments
- Monitor and analyse competitor products, pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies
- Gather, interpret, and present market intelligence to support strategic business planning
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate key market insights to stakeholders
- Partner closely with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and senior leadership to translate insights into actionable business strategies
- Support product portfolio planning by identifying market opportunities and potential risks
- Analyse sales performance and market data to evaluate product success and recommend improvements
- Maintain awareness of global motorcycle industry developments, regulations, and technological advancements
- Contribute to strategic planning sessions with evidence-based recommendations

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Experience in market research, business analysis, product planning, or market intelligence
- Excellent organisational and project planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience producing reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail with a proactive and collaborative approach
Desirable
- Experience within the motorcycle, automotive, powersports, or wider mobility industry
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) processes
- Experience using business intelligence or data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Understanding of product development and go-to-market planning
