What you need

  • Strong experience delivering targeted tutoring or interventions in Functional Skills English and/or Mathematics (from Entry Levels up to Level 2).
  • Proven experience supporting diverse learning needs, including pupils with SEND (e.g., ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia) or those facing significant barriers to learning. All applicants must have prior SEN experience.
  • A solid understanding of Functional Skills assessment frameworks, alongside the ability to adapt practical lesson plans to suit a learner's real-world context and track their progress effectively.
  • A valid right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one). You must be able to commute to Ipswich for potential placements and travel to one of our operating areas for your initial interview.
  • A patient, compassionate approach combined with exceptional communication skills suitable for motivating and collaborating with young learners, parents, and educational staff.

To ensure the highest quality of safeguarding and connection, all first interviews are conducted in person, even if you ultimately choose to tutor remotely. You must be able to travel to one of our core operating areas (such as London, Surrey, Manchester, or Kent) for this initial stage.
