About FLISS
FLISS (Female Leaders in STEM Subjects) is a charity supporting women in STEM through mentoring, professional development, community engagement, advocacy, and outreach.
Our vision is to create a more inclusive STEM sector where women can thrive at every stage of their careers. Through mentoring programmes, events, campaigns, and partnerships, FLISS provides practical support, meaningful connections, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
As FLISS continues to grow, we are strengthening the resources and partnerships needed to expand our impact and support more women in STEM.
Role Purpose
FLISS is seeking a proactive and organised Volunteer Fundraising Officer to help identify and develop funding opportunities that support our mentoring programmes and wider community initiatives.
Working closely with the leadership team, you will contribute to grant fundraising, partnership development, prospect research, and supporter engagement activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising while contributing to a meaningful social mission.
We also welcome applications from recent graduates, career changers, and individuals looking to develop their fundraising, partnership, or business development skills through a meaningful volunteering opportunity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
