We’re seeking a Fundraising Trustee to lead bid development, secure sustainable funding, and build strong funder relationships, using compelling storytelling and strategic planning to support Kainé’s growth and community impact in Leicester

What are we looking for?
Essential
Proven experience writing successful bids or managing fundraising initiatives. Ability to translate community needs and programme outcomes into powerful narratives. Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple deadlines and opportunities. High-level written communication skills and attention to detail. Commitment to transparency and maintaining clear financial reporting links with the Finance Committee.

What will you be doing?
Kainé relies on strong, mission-aligned fundraising to continue delivering arts, education, and cultural awareness programmes that improve community cohesion in Leicester. We are looking for a Fundraising Trustee who can help us secure sustainable funding, strengthen funder relationships and keep our long-term ambitions financially grounded. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the power of compelling storytelling, strong community evidence and meticulous grant planning.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
Lead all major bid development and submissions to local and national funders. Maintain a comprehensive bid tracker reflecting the full pipeline and progress stages. Identify and cultivate relationships with major funders and grant-giving bodies. Liaise with the Programmes Trustee to ensure bids accurately reflect community need and programme design. Delegate smaller bids while retaining final oversight and editorial control. Ensure all deadlines are met, lessons are documented and funder feedback is actively sought. Attend Finance Committee and Board meetings, fulfilling Trustee responsibilities.
