Volunteer Opportunity: Fundraising Volunteer (Remote)

I Am Somebody’s Child Soldier (IAMSCS) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting post-war recovery, mental health, and reintegration for vulnerable communities affected by conflict in Africa.

To empower former child soldiers and victims of war by supporting their mental health, rehabilitation, reintegration, and long-term wellbeing through sustainable livelihood initiatives, education, psychotherapy, and community partnerships, while raising awareness of the impact of post-war trauma and mental ill health across Africa.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Fundraising Volunteer to support the development and delivery of ethical, mission-aligned fundraising initiatives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about social impact, donor engagement, and sustainable funding models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and initiatives
  • Research potential donors, grant opportunities, and partnerships
  • Assist with donor communications and fundraising materials
  • Support online fundraising and awareness campaigns
  • Track fundraising activity and support reporting where required

Skills & Experience

  • Interest or experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit work
  • Experience of working with potential donors in Uganda, or elsewhere in east Africa as well as the UK is desirable
  • Strong written communication and research skills
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Alignment with IAMSCS’s mission and values
