Funeral Service Crew
Location: Bellshill, ML4 1AQ
Contract:
- Hours: Part-time (18.75 hours per week)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) across 3 days over 5
- On-Call Rota: Rotational (1 in 7 weeks):
- Weekdays (16:30 PM – 8:00 PM)
- Weekends (08:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
- Wage: £13.24 per hour plus benefits

What You’ll Do
Your key responsibilities as part of the funeral service crew include:
- Collect the deceased from various locations with professionalism and empathy
- Transport and carry coffins during funerals
- Drive funeral service vehicles safely
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles, equipment, and facilities
- Prepare and engrave coffins with name plates
- Assist in the preparation of the deceased for viewings and funerals
- Update client management systems daily with detailed and accurate records
- Handle the safe lifting, carrying, and moving of coffins (training and equipment provided)
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times

What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate should have:
- A full manual UK driving licence
- The ability to perform physical tasks (e.g., manual lifting). Safe working practices and training will be provided.
- Good IT skills, including:
- Experience using devices such as computers, tablets, smartphones, printers, and scanners
- Confidence adapting to new software and systems
- The ability to respond calmly and empathetically in emotionally sensitive situations
- Strong attention to detail to ensure:
- Regulatory policies are followed
- Accurate and consistent record-keeping
