The Opportunity
Trafford Lowe Funeral Services – Somercotes are currently looking for a Casual Funeral Service Operative. The hours are varied and designed to fit around your other commitments.
Calm, professional Funeral Service Operatives play a vital role in our service, often being the first point of contact for families. A strong candidate will provide reassurance during an emotional time, ensuring their loved one is treated with dignity and care.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Bringing the deceased into the funeral home’s care
- Assisting behind the scenes, including:
- Mortuary work
- Coffin fitting
- Preparing and dressing the deceased
- Conducting funeral services
- Pallbearing duties
- Ensuring smooth operations on the day

Key Requirements
- Must hold a valid full driving licence (due to occasional vehicle driving duties)
- Availability for on-call and out-of-hours shifts, including additional payment opportunities
