About the Role
We’re looking for an empathetic and well-organised individual to join our team at Jennings Funeral Directors. As the first point of contact for grieving families, you’ll provide reassurance, support, and meticulous care while ensuring all funeral arrangements are handled with professionalism.
Based at our Oxley branch, you’ll take pride in overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting families, maintaining high service standards, and fostering trusted relationships within the community. You’ll also be trained to guide families on Funeral Plans and assist with ceremonial duties when needed.

Key Responsibilities
As a Funeral Service Specialist, your duties will include:
- Offering support, professionalism, and empathy to families in distress
- Arranging funerals that honour family wishes, cultural practices, and legal requirements, providing clarity and precision
- Overseeing daily branch operations, including administration and maintaining presentation standards
- Collaborating with suppliers, such as ministers, celebrants, and florists
- Leading chapel visits, ensuring families feel supported in their requests
- Promoting funeral plans and contributing to plan sales within the branch
- Representing the branch in the local community via outreach efforts
- Completing training in Funeral Conducting to assist with ceremonial duties during peak periods
- Upholding Dignity’s standards of care, professionalism, and service excellence

Skills & Knowledge
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Compassion, calmness, and emotional resilience when handling sensitive situations
- Strong communication, organisation, and administrative skills (e.g., managing legal paperwork)
- Confidence in working independently with accountability for branch-level responsibilities
- Comfort in settings involving the deceased, including visiting funeral chapels
- Flexibility to work weekends/on-call as required
- A Full UK Driving Licence (desirable but not essential)—travel between clients’ homes and branches is a necessity
- Prior experience in customer service, healthcare, or administration (training is provided for new applicants)
