Position Overview (Part-Time)

We are seeking a mature, highly experienced part-time Aquatic Team Leader to head our instructional team and oversee daily pool operations. This is a pivotal management role designed for an established aquatics professional who can ensure a safe, positive, and dynamic recreational experience for our community.

You will be the backbone of our deck operations—responsible for mentoring, training, and managing our swim instructors. While this is primarily a leadership position, you must be someone who does not shy away from the water; you are fully expected to jump in on a need-basis to cover a class, lead by example, or provide hands-on coaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management: Supervise daily pool operations and provide guidance to lifeguards and staff members, fostering teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Training & Quality Assurance: Conduct onboarding and ongoing training for instructors to ensure strict adherence to our curriculum. Be prepared to get into the water to demonstrate techniques, co-teach, or step in as a substitute instructor when required.
  • Safety & Operations: Monitor pool areas continuously for safety hazards, enforce rules to prevent accidents, and maintain overall facility cleanliness and proper chemical levels.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies with total composure, including administering first aid or CPR when necessary.
  • Customer & Program Support: Assist with organizing swim lessons and special events. Act as the primary point of contact for parents and patrons on the deck, addressing feedback and creating a welcoming environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working at British Swim School is more than just a job; it’s a chance to create a lasting impact that could change a child's life.

As part of the British Swim School Team, you play a role in your local community, empowering others and sharing your passion. It’s a chance to be part of a fun-loving team of dedicated people who are committed to promoting water safety and a lifelong love of the water.

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.

We also have exciting opportunities with our Customer Service Team, even if you're not in the pool. These are the people committed to providing the best service in the industry. In these roles, you might talk to parents on the phone or by the pool. Wherever you are, the aim is to make everyone feel like part of the British Swim School Family as we focus on ensuring the “Survival of the Littlest.”

Each franchise location is independently owned and operated by a franchisee (franchise owner). Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee. All inquiries about employment at this franchisee should be made directly to the franchise location, and not to British Swim School Corporate.
