Role Description

The FX Execution Trader is a full-time, on-site role based in London. The role involves executing foreign exchange trades on behalf of institutional clients, ensuring best execution while adhering to the firm’s risk and compliance frameworks. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring FX markets
- Analysing price movements
- Implementing client trading strategies in real time
The FX Execution Trader will coordinate closely with sales, research, and operations teams to manage order flow, optimise liquidity sourcing, and resolve trade-related issues. The role also requires:
- Maintaining detailed trade records
- Supporting post-trade analysis
- Contributing to continuous improvement of execution processes and tools
Required Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in an FX execution or sales function at a top-tier investment bank or buy-side firm.
- An understanding of the full suite of FX products, with experience in executing or selling those products.
- Proficiency in technical analysis and understanding of currency markets, including major and emerging FX pairs.
- Excellent analytical skills for interpreting market data, order flow, and execution quality metrics.
- Solid knowledge of market microstructure, best execution principles, and FX trading platforms and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment with strong attention to detail.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with institutional clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in an execution, sales, or brokerage environment within FX.
- Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks.
