Role Summary
An FX Sales Trader plays a crucial role in the financial markets, particularly in the foreign exchange (FX) sector. This role is dynamic and requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored FX solutions focusing on originating and managing UK large cap clients (£500m+ business turnover) Monitoring and analyzing foreign exchange markets to provide clients with timely and relevant market insights Executing FX trades on behalf of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements Identifying and managing risks associated with FX trading activities, adhering to internal and external risk management policies Identifying new business opportunities and expanding the client base through proactive sales efforts Maintaining accurate records of all trading activities and preparing regular reports for clients and management Working closely with other departments, such as compliance, operations, and research, to ensure seamless service delivery.

Experience working in a regulated financial services environment with a good knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this. Exposure to, or a strong interest in, the digital assets space, with an understanding (or willingness to develop an understanding) of key concepts such as wallet infrastructure, custody models, blockchain mechanics, stablecoins and staking, and how these may translate into legal and regulatory risk. Experience advising on, or supporting, crypto-related products, services, or counterparties (e.g. exchanges, custodians, liquidity providers) would be advantageous but is not essential. Familiarity with financial instruments, particularly derivatives and/or structured products, and an appreciation of how these may intersect with digital asset markets (or a strong willingness to build this knowledge).

Skills and Experience:
A Banking background with experience (8 years+) in building relationships in the FX space, with a transferrable client base Predominantly voice relationships to remove initial reliance on aggregators where returns won’t suffice Strong background in structured FX in cashflow management and/or deal led hedging Ideally experience of both public and private transactions, with a broader awareness of ancillary services such as debt and advisory Opportunity to work closely with new interest rate hedging capability to offer a joined-up approach to opportunities Strong credit understanding and experience of navigating the capital structure so we can find appropriate ranking to seek comfort on writing unsecured facilities Opportunity is to come in as one of the team, prove concept and if successful we will create the conditions to grow a team to focus on this client set Whilst the individual needs some banking experience, they need an entrepreneurial and business development mindset to drive business
