About The Role
The History of Science Museum is looking for Gallery Assistants to help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every visitor. You’ll be the friendly face of the Museum, answering questions, sharing information, and helping people make the most of their visit.
You’ll help keep the galleries safe and running smoothly by supporting day-to-day operations, preparing gallery spaces, assisting with events, and encouraging donations. You may also work in the museum shop from time to time.

These Are Part-time, Fixed-term Posts Until 31 December 2027
- Post 1: 26.32 hours per week (0.72 FTE)
- Post 2: Variable hours (hours will vary each week)
Working patterns will be discussed at interview. Shifts will fall between Tuesday and Sunday, in line with the Museum’s opening days.
The successful candidates will be required to complete a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
