Sheriff/Port Captain (Premier Galvanizing, Hull)
About the Role
Premier Galvanizing Hull, part of the Joseph Ash Group, is recruiting Galvanizing Operatives for full-process roles across varied shift patterns, including day shifts, rotating back shifts, and permanent night shifts within their galvanizing plant.
This position offers a truly rewarding opportunity to join a company with strong growth potential both professionally and personally.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- General handling of steel products
- Hand wiring of products to jigs in preparation for galvanizing
- Operating overhead crane equipment
- Involvement in the entire galvanizing process, including dipping products in zinc to prevent corrosion
- Inspection of products at every stage to ensure high-quality output for customers
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work environment

What We’re Looking For
- A positive attitude with a can-do mindset
- Enjoyment of a manual, hands-on work environment requiring strenuous physical tasks
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
- Previous experience in manufacturing or galvanizing is beneficial but not essential
What We Offer
Shift Patterns & Pay
- Day shifts (rotating weekly): 6 AM – 2:30 PM
- Back shifts (rotating): 1:30 PM – 10 PM
- Fixed night shifts: 10 PM – 6 AM
- Hourly rate: £12.71/hour
- +£8.00 bonus per back shift
- +£16.00 bonus per night shift
