Game/Software Senior Lecturer

Game/Software Senior Lecturer Location: Bristol | Salary: £28,300–£34,400 per annum | Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking applicants for the position of Game/Software Senior Lecturer to support the Access Education Group in Bristol. This integral role supports our mission to deliver inspiring, industry-aligned education in game development and software engineering, shaping students’ futures through compelling and practical teaching.

Your expertise and passion for education and technology will enable you to create dynamic learning experiences that prepare graduates for success in rapidly evolving industries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction through lectures, tutorials, and hands-on workshops in game development, software engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Develop innovative curriculum content that reflects current industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor students—supporting their academic and career growth—while fostering an inclusive, collaborative learning environment.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to organise guest lectures, live projects, and placements.
  • Contribute to course development, ensuring alignment with academic standards and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, research improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes.
  • Supervise final-year projects/dissertations, offering guidance on research and development.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and pedagogical best practices through professional development.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in game/software development, ideally with a strong portfolio or published projects.
  • Proven ability to inspire and engage diverse student groups (previous further/higher education teaching a plus).
