Gap Assistant
Summary
Our Gap Assistants support all areas of school life, from administrative tasks (preparing resources, displays, and materials) to working with pupils in lessons, clubs, trips, and supervised playtimes. Through their role, they gain valuable experience in:
- IT & digitisation
- Teamwork & collaboration
- Communication & interpersonal skills

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Training will be provided where necessary. Candidates are not expected to have full mastery of all tasks from day one.
- Assist teachers in lesson delivery, including:
- General classroom support
- Working with groups or providing one-to-one assistance for pupils
- Prepare materials for lessons, events, and activities
- Support staff in administrative duties (e.g., organisation, filing, coordination)
- Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining ** classroom displays and corridor resources**
- Aid on trips, ensuring teacher support and pupil wellbeing
- Supervise playtimes, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all children
- Perform any additional duties as directed by Head of Year, Deputy Head (Years 6–8), or line manager

Employment Details
- Position: Temporary, fixed-term. Availabilities for Spring/Summer 2027 must be specified in your cover letter.
- DBS Check: Mandatory ( Rothschild Foundation requirements).
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly rate: £12.80
- Payment: BACS transfer on the last working day of each month.
- Working hours:
- Term-time only.
- Standard: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, approx. 8:15 AM – 4:45 PM).
- Flexible timings to be discussed at interview.
Probation and Notice Periods
- Probation: 6 weeks (extendable to 12 weeks at the school’s discretion).
- Post-probation notice period: One month (written notice required).
