Garage Cleaner Bus Cleaner
Garage Cleaner / Bus Cleaner
Arriva is looking for a reliable and hardworking Garage and Bus Cleaner to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene of our bus fleet and depot facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.
Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Times: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Pay Rate: £13.38 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of buses to a high standard, including seats, floors, windows, handrails, and driver cabins.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish in accordance with company procedures.
- Sanitise bus interiors, with particular attention to high-contact surfaces.
- Carry out periodic deep-cleaning tasks, including scrubbing, polishing, and disinfecting vehicles.
- Maintain the cleanliness of depot areas, including workshops, offices, staff rooms, welfare facilities, and external areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Identify and report any vehicle damage, defects, or maintenance issues discovered during cleaning activities.
- Follow all company policies, cleaning standards, and health and safety procedures.
- Monitor cleaning stock levels and report shortages to ensure adequate supplies are always available.

About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a commercial, industrial, transport, or facilities environment.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A good understanding of safe cleaning practices and health and safety requirements.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling duties.
- A dependable and punctual approach with a strong work ethic.
- A full UK driving licence would be an advantage, although it is not essential.
