We are now looking for a Gardener to help maintain and enhance the beautiful grounds of our village. As a Gardener, you will take pride in creating and maintaining vibrant, welcoming outdoor spaces, ensuring the gardens, lawns, and communal areas reflect the high standards of the village. You will play an important role in enhancing the wellbeing of residents through beautiful, well-kept surroundings and a safe, enjoyable outdoor environment.

The Role
- Maintaining and cultivating outdoor spaces, including grassed areas, flower beds, hedges, shrubs, and borders across the village grounds and residents’ personal outdoor areas
- Carrying out landscaping duties, including maintaining pathways, steps, and drainage systems to ensure safe and accessible grounds
- Clearing leaves and debris around the site using machinery and manual methods to keep outdoor areas clean and well-presented
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance around the estate, including fences, gates, and garden structures
- Assisting with guttering and gully clearance to support the upkeep of village infrastructure
- Participating in statutory testing and routine inspections to maintain compliance and safety standards
- Providing support and advice to residents on gardening or horticultural queries, helping them enjoy and engage with their outdoor spaces
- Contributing to the overall upkeep and aesthetic of the village, ensuring both communal gardens and residents’ personal outdoor spaces are safe, attractive, and well-maintained
- Working collaboratively with the wider team to create a welcoming, vibrant, and well-cared-for environment for all residents and visitors

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in grounds care and maintenance, including lawns, gardens, and outdoor communal spaces
- Strong knowledge of plants, shrubs, and horticultural practices, with an understanding of seasonal care and maintenance
- Competent in working safely, following Health and Safety regulations and COSHH guidelines
- Horticultural qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards, ensuring both communal and residents’ personal outdoor spaces are well-kept and attractive
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills to interact with residents and colleagues
