Gardener

Gardener (Temporary Position) – Upminster, England

To provide reliable, high-quality gardening and grounds maintenance services while ensuring all external areas are kept safe, tidy, and well-maintained during staff absence. Immediate or short-notice availability required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Grass cutting, edging, and lawn maintenance
  • Hedge trimming, pruning, and plant care
  • Weeding, planting, and maintaining flowerbeds
  • Keeping external areas (paths, car parks, etc.) clean and safe
  • Identifying plant health issues and taking corrective action
  • Safely operating and maintaining all gardening equipment
  • Undertaking seasonal duties (e.g., leaf clearance, planting)
  • Reporting defects, hazards, or maintenance issues

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven gardening/grounds maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in gardening machinery and tools
  • Basic horticultural knowledge
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations

Desirable

  • Level 2 horticulture qualification (RHS/NVQ/City & Guilds ideal)
  • PA1 / PA6 spraying certificates
  • Full UK driving license
