Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Gardener position based in Groombridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day grounds care, including:

Key Responsibilities

Routine gardening tasks:
- Lawn care (mowing, edging, patch repairs)
- Weeding, pruning, and maintenance of beds and borders
- Planting and establishment of new areas

Plant and tree maintenance:
- Caring for shrubs, trees, and garden plants as directed
- Support of small landscaping projects and garden improvements

Irrigation and water management:
- Managing irrigation schedules efficiently
- Ensuring water is used responsibly across different seasons

Seasonal tasks:
- Leaf clearance
- Mulching
- Assistance with biodiversity and habitat enhancement projects

General daily duties:
- Safe use of hand and powered tools
- Adherence to site-specific instructions
- Collaboration with the wider team to deliver high-quality, environmentally responsible outdoor spaces
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong practical skills in gardening and landscape maintenance, evidenced by experience in:
- Maintaining lawns
- Managing borders and shrubs
- Caring for planted areas

Knowledge of irrigation systems, including:
- Efficient water use
- Seasonal plant care

Basic plant health awareness and safety in handling gardening tools and machinery

Physical resilience to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, performing physically active tasks throughout the day

Qualifications & Additional Requirements
- Relevant horticulture or landscaping qualifications, or equivalent industry experience
- Driving licence (essential) for site travel
