This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong Garment Technologist with menswear experience who is looking to broaden their expertise and take the next step in their career. Working across a diverse product portfolio, you'll play a key role throughout the product lifecycle, gaining valuable exposure to garment fit, construction, compliance, quality, supplier management and commercial decision-making within a fast-paced wholesale environment.

The Opportunity

Working closely with Product Development, Design, Sourcing and Supply Chain teams, you will be responsible for ensuring garments meet the highest standards of fit, quality, performance and compliance from concept through to bulk production.

This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to influence product quality, drive technical improvements, reduce returns and contribute to the ongoing success of multiple apparel categories across menswear and womenswear.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage garment fit and technical development from initial concept through to bulk production.
  • Conduct fit sessions, provide technical comments and approve bulk production.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, grading and product workbooks.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Developers, Designers and suppliers to improve fit, construction and product performance.
  • Establish and maintain core fit blocks across key product categories.
  • Investigate and resolve technical, quality and production issues.
  • Analyse customer returns and competitor products to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage testing, compliance and quality approval processes.
  • Review test reports and ensure products meet all relevant compliance standards.
  • Support supplier compliance, audits and factory performance reviews.
  • Drive initiatives focused on improving quality, reducing returns and increasing development efficiencies.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, technical teams and internal stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • 4+ years' experience as a Garment Technologist within apparel.
  • Strong menswear experience across categories such as outerwear, tailoring, jersey, denim, trousers and shirting.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, grading, pattern cutting and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong experience conducting fit sessions and managing garment approvals.
  • Knowledge of testing, compliance and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers and factories.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of customer expectations.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
