About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Garment Technologist to lead the technical development of our Lipsy Knitwear range. As the expert in your field, you’ll collaborate with Buying and Design teams to ensure seamless product development, quality assurance, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities:

Fit & Compliance:
- Lead fit sessions to verify product alignment with NEXT standards.
- Track the process via sealing procedures.

Risk & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure product compliance and safety.
- Perform fabric tests, diagnose failures, and propose solutions.
- Optimise product approval processes, escalating non-compliant issues to suppliers.

Technical Development & Innovation:
- Work closely with Buying and Design to drive effective product development while anticipating quality risks.
- Benchmark against competitors, incorporating industry-leading innovations.

Supplier Management & Standards:
- Ensure suppliers adhere to Technical Standards, Code of Conduct, and CSR policies.
- Align with business deadlines, resolving quality issues with cost-efficiency while maintaining customer-centricity.

Performance-driven Problem-Solving:
- Apply expertise in:
- Product construction
- Fabric/yarn capabilities
- Finishes and performance
- Print & embellishment techniques
- Garner strict adherence to Legal and Health & Safety regulations.

Requirements & Skills
- Experience:At least 5 years as a Garment Technologist with knitwear womenswear expertise, preferably in high-street fashion.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of fabric testing and reporting.
- Experience working with a diverse supply chain, including overseas partnerships.
- Soft Skills:
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, adaptable and proactive.
- Proficient in Excel, with competency in internal systems.
- Ability to build strong supplier relationships and communicate at all levels.
