About the Role

Our client is a fast-growing, ambitious lifestyle apparel business seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to join its expanding product team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, commercially successful collections across multiple product categories.

Working closely with design, product development, suppliers, and manufacturing partners, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet the highest standards of fit, quality, performance, and compliance throughout the development process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fit sessions and provide clear, detailed technical feedback to suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Create and maintain technical specifications, size charts, grading information, and garment construction packs.
  • Ensure products consistently meet quality standards, brand requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Review fabrics, trims, prints, embellishments, and wash treatments to ensure performance and durability standards are achieved.
  • Identify and resolve garment fit, construction, and quality issues throughout product development.
  • Ensure all products comply with relevant UK and EU safety and compliance regulations.
  • Liaise regularly with overseas suppliers and factories regarding technical specifications and production requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, fit consistency, and manufacturing efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a Garment Technologist role within fashion, sportswear, lifestyle apparel, or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, fit, and fabric performance.
  • Experience working across multiple product categories.
  • Good knowledge of production processes and factory workflows.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within sportswear, licensed apparel, merchandise, or fanwear products.
  • Knowledge of print and embellishment techniques, including embroidery, screen printing, heat transfer, and appliqué.
  • Understanding of compliance testing and product safety requirements.
  • Qualification in Fashion, Clothing Technology, or a related discipline.
