Gas Engineer – Wates Property Services (WPS)
📍 Location: Barnsley
💼 Full-Time | Permanent
About The Role
WPS are seeking a skilled and experienced Gas Engineer to join our team in Barnsley.
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality gas servicing, maintenance, and repairs across residential and commercial properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing domestic gas appliances and systems
- Diagnosing and resolving technical faults efficiently
- Completing safety checks and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards
- Working on boilers, heating systems, and associated controls
- Delivering excellent customer service during property visits
- Adhering to company safety protocols and procedures
- Accurately documenting jobs via job reports and maintenance records

Essential Requirements
✔ Valid Gas Safe Registration ✔ ACS qualifications (e.g, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1) ✔ Demonstrated experience in servicing and repairing gas systems ✔ Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills ✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
✖ Experience in social housing or property maintenance ✖ In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations ✖ Proven track record in customer-focused environments
