Permanent Gas Engineer (Patch Location: Derbyshire)
Field-Based Role Midlands & East of England
Permanent, Full-Time 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday) On-call + out-of-hours rotations with paid allowances
£42,000 per annum + Company Van (private use) + Excellent Benefits
About the Role
As a Gas Engineer in Serco’s Operations team, you will ensure that accommodations are maintained safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. Your hands-on work will directly benefit our communities, providing warm, secure living environments.
Key initiatives include installations, servicing, breakdown repairs, safety checks, and audits. Supporting your operations, Serco provides a fleet van, tools, and clear guidelines to perform your role at the highest standard.
What You’ll Do
- 故障与维护 Perform boiler servicing, installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and breakdown repairs while adhering to Gas Safe regulations
- 安全检查与合规 Conduct gas safety inspections, issue certifications, and maintain precise records
- 技术支撑 Provide expert advice and guidance to non-gas-safety maintenance colleagues
- 绩效与合作 Collaborate with external contractors, auditing their work for quality and compliance
- 信息管理 Use internal systems for fault reporting, job management, and cost feedback
Requirements
- ** licence (qualifications)**
- Gas Safe Register certification
- Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in one of the following:
- Domestic Natural Gas Installation & Maintenance
- Gas Utilisation (Applicit to gas-fired appliances)
- Plumbing & Heating (covering gas applications)
- Alternative equivalent qualifications approved by the Competent Persons Scheme
- ** 技术能力** Proven diagnostic skills for diagnosing gas system issues
- 工作习惯 Highly safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of independent working Ability to manage time across multiple locations in patch areas

This role requires BPSS (Barred List Screening Service) clearance, meaning:
- Rigorous identity verification
