Gas Safe Register are recruiting for a safety-focused, gas-qualified individual within our field services team based in the North/East London area.
About the Role
As a Gas Engineer, you will be involved in ensuring the gas safety standards upheld by registered businesses in North/East London are compliant. You will manage a portfolio of businesses while adhering to service level agreements, conducting inspections, and identifying deficiencies to mitigate risks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct and complete inspections and audits in line with our HSE risk model and contractual requirements.
- Follow Gas Industry Statutory & Normative Documents and internal procedures when inspecting businesses.
- Liaise with registered businesses to identify defects, ensuring they are corrected to standard and within deadline as required.
- Generate inspection reports that meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory expectations.
- Take immediate and appropriate action when uncovering unsafe or illegal gas installations.
- Communicate effectively with both businesses and consumers, fostering clear, transparent engagement.
Requirements
Essential:

Must hold the following minimum ACS certificates of competence:
- CCN1
- CENWAT1
- CKR1
- HTR1
-
Ideally have additional ACS certifications in:
- LPG
- Non-Domestic & Catering
- LAU1 and DAH1

Experience in:
- Working with a variety of gas appliances.
- Quality controlling gas installations.

Clear understanding of:
- Health & Safety regulations.
- Building Regulations and related standards.
- Risk assessment for different environments.

Possess a relevant CSWIP Auditor qualification (D32/A1) as an advantageous bonus.

Maintain regular CPD (Continuous Professional Development) to stay current on industry standards.

Appreciate challenges faced by gas, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC businesses.

Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with tools & techniques needed for inspections and diagnostic checks.
