Qualified Gas Engineer – Domestic & Social Housing

You’ll be working locally, ensuring gas systems are safe and functioning across a range of domestic properties—including occupied homes, void properties, and community buildings—while serving vulnerable customers.
What You’ll Get
- Company van with fuel card
- 35 days annual leave (including bank holidays), with options to buy/sell spare days
- Overtime opportunities available
- Core working hours: 09:00–16:30 (Mon–Fri)
- Full equipment & PPE provided (tools, uniform, iPad, mobile phone)
- Pension with 7% employer contribution (matched up to this level)

What You’ll Be Doing
Working to strict gas safety regulations, your role includes:
- Conducting full gas servicing, maintenance and installation across domestic properties
- Ensuring compliance with all Gas Safe Register and health & safety standards
- Participating in an on-call rota when required
- Optimising first-time fix rates by managing van stock and resources efficiently
- Collaborating with internal teams to meet service targets
- Accurately recording work activity and compliance documentation

A Typical Day
- Follow a structured schedule for tap-ins, maintenance, and installations
- Travel between jobs using your company van
- Work independently or as part of a trade team
- Engage directly with customers in their homes, often supporting vulnerable individuals
- Complete tasks efficiently while adhering to safety and compliance standards
Where You’ll Work
You’ll be based in the BB postcode area and cover:
- Occupied homes
- Void/demolished properties
- Diverse domestic properties (e.g., flats, houses, social housing)
- Environments supporting vulnerable customers
Key Requirements
Essential Criteria (Must Meet All To Be Shortlisted)
- Valid ACS gas qualifications (Core, Domestic Heating, and Gas Safe registration)
- Proven experience as a Gas Engineer, preferably in social housing or domestic settings
- Full UK driving licence (note: postcode-based location requires residency in the BB area)
- Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check (note: safeguarding is a company priority)
Nice to Have
- Experience working to service KPIs
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
