As part of Gas Safe Register, we are seeking a safety-focused gas qualified individual to join our Field Services Team in Leeds, South Cumbria, and the surrounding areas.
About the Role
As a Gas Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with gas safety standards delivered by registered businesses. Your role will involve assessing businesses within your allocated portfolio, ensuring defect reports are completed within service level agreements, and maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections in line with our risk model and contractual obligations with the HSE (Health and Safety Executive)
- Conduct assessments against Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents and internal procedures
- Liaise with registered businesses to resolve defects identified during inspections and ensure compliance within required timescales
- Complete inspection reports in line with Service Level Agreements and to the required standard
- Take appropriate action when unsafe or illegal gas work is identified
- Maintain effective communication with registered businesses and gas consumers

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Must hold minimum ACS Certificates of Competence, including: CCN1 (Cooker), CENWAT1 (Boiler – Natural Gas), CKR1 (Corrosion Control), HTR1 (Flue Systems) (Ideal applicants will also have LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1 (Lighting Appliances), and DAH1 (Domestic Heating – Alternative Fuels))
- Proven experience working on a variety of gas appliances or in gas quality control
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and normative documentation, including risk assessments
- Relevant Auditor qualification (optional): D32/A1 or equivalent
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to stay current with industry standards
- Familiarity with issues affecting gas, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installation businesses
- Ability to use tools and perform necessary tests/checks during inspections
