Gas Installation Surveyor
Senior Gas Qualified Surveyor & Technical Support

Salary: £35,000 per annum Location: Predominantly Manchester, with an expectation to cover the North West.
Role Overview
You will travel to sites to create detailed and accurate specifications and quotes for installation projects, aligning with legislative requirements and stakeholder communication. Your role also includes:
- Supporting and guiding engineers during project execution.
- Conducting quality inspections post-completion to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Championing professionalism and quality standards, fostering employee development, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

Specification & Quoting
- Assess sites and compile comprehensive, compliant specifications for heating/energy installations.
- Ensure all work complies with UK legislation and reflects client needs.

Procurement & Logistics
- Order parts and subcontracted services for confirmed projects, ensuring timely delivery.
Technical Support & Supervision
- Provide real-time guidance to engineers on-site and remotely to adhere to quotes and compliance.
- Train and mentor operatives to meet weekly job completion targets.
Client Relations
- Act as the primary client contact, building relationships and resolving problematic projects.
- Handle customer complaints, including site visits and technical resolution discussions.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct routine quality checks and health & safety audits to meet regulatory standards.
- Monitor recalls (repeated engineer visits) and propose corrective actions or retraining.
Communication & Training
- Clarify company policies and client requirements through daily contact and monthly Toolbox Talks.
- Assist with engineer training for new and existing staff under the Head of Region and Install Manager.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating & Ventilation (or equivalent).
- Valid gas safe qualifications, including:
- CCN1 (Central Heating)
- CENWAT (Water Heating)
- HTR1 (Hot Water)
- CKR1 (Boilers)
- Full UK driving licence (manual preferred).
- Practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects.
- Deep understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards.
