Role Description

The Gas Market Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom. This position is responsible for monitoring gas market trends, prices, and regulatory developments to support trading and procurement decisions. The Gas Market Specialist will analyse consumption data and market intelligence, prepare reports and forecasts, and contribute to risk management strategies.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant market rules and regulations

The role also involves collaborating with commercial and operations teams to optimise gas portfolios and improve margin performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in data analysis, market research, or forecasting.
  • Knowledge of gas markets, energy trading, or utilities, including understanding of pricing mechanisms and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency with Excel and related analytical tools; experience with data visualisation or business intelligence software is beneficial.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a structured approach to managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in economics, finance, engineering, energy management, or a related field.
  • Experience in the UK energy sector or gas market operations is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work on-site and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
