Gas Operative

Salary: £34,774 + Operational Incentive Scheme Hours: 41.25 hours per week, including a standby/callout rota over 7 days Location: NGN Network (based across Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, York, Hull, Bradford and rural areas including North Yorkshire and Cumbria) Start Date: 7th September 2026

Responsibilities

As a Gas Operative, you will:

✅ Carry out critical work on NGN’s gas network, including:

  • Replacing mains and service lines
  • Repairing gas escapes and other distribution activities to maintain safety and supply

✅ Operate through tasks assigned by the Team Leader, including:

  • Excavation, pipe-laying, jointing, connections, and repairs to sustain a reliable network

Requirements

Core Qualifications & Experience
✔️ Full UK manual driving licence is mandatory
