Gas Repair Engineer - Bradford

Join HomeServe as a Gas Repair Engineer and play a vital role in keeping our customers' homes running smoothly.

Location: Bradford Salary: £46,250 + £1,500 guaranteed bonus in your first year Hours: You will average 40 hours per week (annualised hours – shorter hours in summer, longer in winter, with consistent pay). Includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.


About the Role

As a Gas Repair Engineer, you’ll be working in customers’ homes diagnosing and repairing gas appliances and heating systems in a field-based role where no two days are the same, giving you variety and autonomy in your work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing faults on boilers and central heating systems
  • Carrying out repairs to restore heating and hot water
  • Conducting boiler servicing
  • Completing safety checks and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Managing your own jobs while delivering excellent customer service
  • Representing HomeServe professionally in customers’ homes

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks comply with gas safety regulations
  • Resolve complex and sometimes specialist problems on-site
  • Work closely with internal teams to coordinate schedule and workload
  • Maintain and update operational systems for complete efficiency

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Valid gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT1, HTR1, & CKR1
  • Experience in repairing gas appliances and central heating systems
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 6 penalty points)
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and solve technical issues on-site
  • A positive, proactive approach to your work

HomeServe provides comprehensive support and training to ensure you succeed:

  • Induction: 1 week of classroom-based training at our Walsall Head Office (Monday to Friday).
  • On-the-Job Training: While you’ll receive in-depth guidance, you’ll quickly start working alongside an experienced HomeServe Gas Repair Engineer to build your confidence and expertise.

Where required, we’ll cover accommodation and meal allowances during the induction period.
