Who We Are

VIVO provides facilities management and accommodation maintenance for the UK military and its partners. VIVO embodies both experience and innovation.

What We Do

We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do. We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time. In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.

Location: Home based, to cover sites across England from Essex to Newcastle

Permanent, Full time

Salary: Up to £70,000

At VIVO, we proudly deliver facilities management and infrastructure services across the Defence estate, helping to maintain the places where our Armed Forces live, work and train. We're looking for an experienced Gas Safety Manager to provide technical leadership and governance across our gas infrastructure, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence are maintained.

This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll be responsible for implementing, managing and continuously improving the Gas Safety Case, ensuring safe systems of work are consistently applied across the estate. Acting as the organisation's technical authority for gas safety, you'll work closely with Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) representatives, operational teams and senior stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards and Defence requirements.

  • You'll provide expert advice to the business on all aspects of gas safety, auditing compliance across multiple sites and identifying opportunities to strengthen safe systems of work.
  • Working alongside Responsible Persons (RPs), you'll oversee their appointment, competency assessments, ongoing development and six-monthly reviews, ensuring they remain fully supported and compliant throughout their appointment.
  • You'll play a key role in reviewing technical standards, responding to changes in legislation and ensuring all relevant safety notices, technical bulletins and updates to the Gas Safety Case are communicated effectively across the business.
  • You'll also contribute technical expertise to infrastructure projects, ensuring existing gas installations are safely integrated with new works while supporting project teams throughout delivery.
  • As part of the role, you'll investigate gas-related incidents, manage critical P1 events, monitor corrective actions and ensure all defects, operational restrictions and RIDDOR reportable events are appropriately managed and communicated.
  • You'll maintain registers of Responsible Persons and Skilled Persons, oversee work-in-progress audits and provide regular assurance reporting to senior management and our Defence customers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
