GCP Data Architect
Day Rate: £525 (Inside IR35) per day | Location: London or Bristol, UK (2 days onsite per week)
Contract: 12 Months
Are you an experienced GCP Data Architect looking to play a key role in delivering enterprise-scale cloud and data transformation programmes? Our client, a top global organization, is looking for an experienced architect to design and govern cloud-native data platforms, combining strategic solution architecture with hands-on data architecture expertise. You'll work across large-scale finance transformation initiatives, helping shape resilient, secure and scalable GCP solutions while influencing engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end cloud-native data architectures on Google Cloud Platform
- Lead solution architecture across enterprise finance transformation programmes
- Design conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Define ingestion, transformation, storage and reporting patterns
- Build scalable solutions using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer and Cloud Storage
- Drive metadata, lineage, governance and reference data strategies
- Produce reusable architecture patterns and technical standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects and business stakeholders
- Participate in architecture governance and technical design reviews
- Guide engineering teams through delivery and architectural best practice

Essential Skills
- Strong experience designing enterprise data platforms on Google Cloud Platform
- Expertise with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Composer, Cloud Storage and IAM
- Advanced data modelling experience (3NF, Data Vault, Dimensional Modelling)
- Strong understanding of metadata, lineage and data governance
- Experience designing finance data platforms including reporting, reconciliation and ledger data
- Experience leading architecture across multiple delivery teams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

- Google Professional Cloud Architect (PCA)
- Google Professional Data Engineer (PDE)
- TOGAF certification
- Terraform
- CI/CD (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Hybrid or multi-cloud architecture experience
