Make a Difference – Become a Tutor!

We want passionate educators to help young learners thrive in education! Join Fleet Education Services as a Tutor (GCSE) and support students in Gillingham (and also available in Tonbridge) through 1:1 and small group tuition.

We need talented professionals to meet growing demand for face-to-face tuition, delivered primarily in school hours at pupil’s homes or local venues. Apply now and start making a meaningful difference!


What You’ll Need To Be A Tutor

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Level 6) qualification
  • Desirable: Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Minimum 6 months UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK (no restrictions on hours)
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (must already be on the Update Service or willingness to obtain it)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting learners with:
    • Special Educational Needs (SEN)
    • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
    • Other complex learning needs

Your Responsibilities As A Tutor

  • Design and deliver personalised lessons that engage learners and drive progress
  • Monitor and review learner progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and schools to support academic success
  • Maintain accurate session records via our virtual learning platform

⚠️ Key points to consider:

  • As a Tutor with Fleet, you’ll be listed as an Agency Worker—engagements arise as required (no guaranteed hours).
  • You’ll operate under a contract for services and will be paid via PAYE.
  • All tuition placements will be covered by our insurance.
  • Shortlisted candidates must complete our safer recruitment process (aligned with KCSIE – Keeping Children Safe in Education).
