Role: GenAI Data Scientist Job Type: Permanent Location: Peterborough Mode of Working: Hybrid Hours per Week: 40 hours (full-time)

As a GenAI Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise AI. Your work will involve:

Desired Competencies
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced AI and machine learning solutions within the GenAI domain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges, opportunities, and AI implementation strategies.
- Apply advanced data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to generate actionable insights.
- Develop, fine-tune, and optimize machine learning models using suitable frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Guide senior leaders in defining AI strategies and helping to embed AI technologies into business operations.
- Apply expertise in large language models, GPT-style systems, and Transformer-based architectures to enhance NLP solutions.
- Stay at the forefront of advances in AI, data science, NLP, and GenAI, translating cutting-edge developments into practical solutions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a data science team, ensuring high-quality deliverables and continuous competency growth.
- Collaborate withexternal partners, academia, and research institutions to stay aligned with emerging AI trends.

Essential Skills & Experience
- A Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience implementing AI and machine learning solutions in real-world applications.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Java, with hands-on experience in AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Deep knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, statistical modeling, model optimization, and evaluation techniques.
- Expertise in large language models, NLP, and Transformer architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior data scientists effectively.
- Strategic mindset to translate business objectives into AI roadmaps, strategies, and acievable plans.
Desirable Skills
- Prior experience leading AI projects involving NLP, large language models, or Transformer-based architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Professional consulting experience or leader-level experience advising on AI strategy, adoption, and business operational models.
