# Job Opportunity: GenAI Platform Lead
The Group AI Platform team within HSBC’s CTO is responsible for creating shared AI foundations, models, and infrastructure—including an Agent HUB, reusable capabilities, and built-in controls. This allows teams to deliver AI faster, safely, and at scale. The team is growing globally, spanning Asia and Europe, and collaborates across the bank to turn AI into reliable, repeatable, and high-value services.
As GenAI Platform Lead, you will shape HSBC’s shared GenAI Agent platform, providing teams across regions with the tools to deliver AI solutions more quickly and securely. You will play a central role in AI enablement, transforming cutting-edge agent capabilities into reusable platform services that drive actual business impact for the bank.
## Core Responsibilities
This role involves helping define and advance HSBC’s shared GenAI Agent foundation. As part of this team:
- Design and implement the GenAI Agent platform end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders from ideation to production rollout for key banking services.
- Architect core platform functions, including:
- Agent orchestration (supervisors/super agents)
- Workflow automation & tool/function integration
- Memory/state management strategies
- Skill registries & reusable patterns
- Promote enterprise-wide adoption through:
- Documentation frameworks and reference implementations
- Developer enablement tools (APIs, SDKs, templates)
- Governance protocols for safe, scalable AI deployment
- Oversee performance management, ensuring scalability, accuracy, and efficiency by setting:
- Success metrics/SLOs
- Observability systems (logs, metrics, traces)
- Tuning processes to optimise for reliability, accuracy, latency, and cost
- Manage delivery governance and risk execution, including:
- Defining and conditioning project scope and dependencies
- Aligning with milestones and removing obstacles
- Providing clear stakeholder communications and value/risk/cost trade-offs

## Requirements
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and strategic vision:
### Technical Skills & Experience
- Deep software engineering experience, with hands-on coding in:
- Python, complemented by proficient knowledge of Java or Golang
- Cloud expertise:
- Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, and the ability to deploy and operate production-grade services (preferably using Docker/Kubernetes)
- AI/GenAI specialisation:
- Extensive experience building and deploying LLM/GenAI applications
- Familiarity with agent-driven workflows, multi-agent architectures, and tool/function calling
- Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases
- Commitment to innovation:
- Adopts an "AI-native mindset", leveraging coding assistants to enhance productivity and quality
