GenAI Python Developer
Location: Hybrid / 2 days in Central London
Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
Notice Period: Immediate to 2 Weeks Preferred
We're looking for an experienced GenAI Python Developer to join a high-profile programme delivering an enterprise-scale GenAI Virtual Agent capability for a global organisation.
This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, developing secure, scalable and production-ready GenAI solutions that will be used across a large international business. You'll combine strong Python engineering expertise with cloud technologies, DevOps best practices and emerging GenAI frameworks to build next-generation AI services.

What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain Python-based backend services and APIs using FastAPI.
- Build secure integrations between Large Language Models (LLMs) and enterprise applications.
- Design and implement GenAI solutions including prompt orchestration, output validation and evaluation frameworks.
- Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities and data access patterns.
- Integrate AI services with cloud-native architectures across Azure and AWS.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines aligned with engineering and security standards.
- Implement observability, monitoring and performance optimisation across GenAI services.
- Support benchmarking, experimentation and evaluation of LLM performance, accuracy and cost.
- Collaborate with Architects, Platform Engineers, Product Teams and Business Stakeholders.
- Contribute to reusable frameworks, API standards, documentation and best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on Python development experience.
- Strong commercial experience with FastAPI.
- Experience developing and deploying applications within Azure and AWS environments.
- Hands-on experience working with GenAI technologies and LLMs.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, prompt evaluation and AI orchestration patterns.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience, ideally using Azure DevOps.
- Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform.
- Experience working within secure, regulated enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of authentication, secrets management and security best practices.
- Development of AWS services: EC2, EKS, S3, SQS, DynamoDB, Bedrock.

- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
- Vector databases and semantic search technologies.
- Kong API Gateway and Kong Mesh.
- FluxCD and GitOps workflows.
- Prompt evaluation and observability tools such as Promptfoo and Arize.
- SQL databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- NoSQL database technologies.
- Distributed systems and cloud-native application development.
