About the Company
Our client is an innovative biotechnology start-up developing next-generation gene synthesis technology. They are building a scalable platform that has the potential to accelerate scientific discovery and transform how synthetic DNA is developed and commercialised.

The Role
As a Senior Molecular Biologist, you'll play a key role in developing and optimising molecular biology workflows that underpin a commercial gene synthesis platform. Working within a collaborative start-up environment, you'll combine hands-on laboratory work with scientific problem-solving to help take innovative technology from development to commercial reality.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute and optimise molecular biology workflows, sequencing protocols and automated laboratory processes
- Lead experimental workstreams, analyse sequencing data using Python-based tools, and drive continuous improvement across the gene synthesis platform
- Collaborate with internal scientists and external partners while developing robust SOPs and supporting the transition towards commercial-scale operations

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on molecular biology experience with expertise in troubleshooting workflows and operating Nanopore and Sanger sequencing platforms
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems and Python for scientific or sequencing data analysis
- Commercial awareness, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to independently lead scientific workstreams
