Location: Derwent Hill, Portinscale, Keswick, Cumbria
Salary: Grade 2 (SCP 5 : 6) A GBP 25,949 : A GBP 25,989 (pro rata)

About the Role
Derwent Hill are looking to recruit General Assistants, the job will include evenings, weekends and possibly some kitchen shifts.
Main Purpose
- To provide excellent customer service as part of the Derwent Hill Venue Team.
- To complete general housekeeping duties and other customer service tasks including food and drink service.
Key Tasks
- Cleaning of all areas
- Service of food and drink
- Preparation of dining areas for meals
- Washing up
- Laundry
- Assisting chefs in kitchen duties
- Serving in the bar and shop
- Moving furniture and setting up rooms as required
- During appropriate periods use opportunities to develop your skills
- Other reasonable duties as may be directed by the Centre Director
- Contribute to Derwent Hill’s welcoming and supportive ethos, working flexibly when necessary to support colleagues.
Requirements
- Working in a housekeeping, kitchen and/or bar environment with experience of customer service.
- Ability to develop knowledge and experience of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and to follow these regulations and Council Policies.

- Be able to provide excellent customer service by being able to delight customers and deliver high quality tailored services to meet needs and exceed expectations.
- Work effectively within a busy team environment, or independently with ability to work at a fast pace and cope well with a higher level of workload.
- Able to take a practical approach and pay attention to details, seeing tasks through to completion, ensuring they are completed on time or to deadlines and to a high degree of accuracy.
